Patriotic US Metal and Hard Rock Songs By: Eric Compton The connection between patriotism and heavy metal is a firm one. Many artists and bands have not only created inspiring, patriotic tunes but also supported the country, military and personnel with countless tours and concerts paying tribute to the men and women that serve our country. With USA's July 4th "Independence Day", we take a moment to recognize some of our favorites from the metal and hard rock world:
Published: Tuesday, July 3, 2018 Iced Earth - "Star Spangled Banner & Declaration Day" This Tampa Bay/Midwestern US act have been one of the biggest contributors to patriotic heavy metal. These opening tracks kickstart the 2004 album "The Glorious Burden", a conceptual record about the history of America. 2. Stuck Mojo - "I'm an American" Rich Ward and company have released a number of political and socially inept tunes. They've created an equal number of patriotic songs including this track from 2007's "Southern Born Killers" record. 3. Lizzy Borden - "American Metal" From 1985's 'Love You to Pieces', Lizzy Borden fights the good fight for American Metal. 4. Fozzy - "Storm the Beaches" Chris Jericho, Rich Ward and the boys doing their tribute to America's fallen troops at D-Day. 5. Ghost of War - "We're an American Band" These US traditionalists cover Grand Funk Railroad's classic tune. It embodies the heart and soul of this red, white and blue hard working band. 6. Images of Eden - "Tribal Scars" IoE's tribute to the soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice and the one's who still have wars within them. Video filmed on September 11, 2010. 7. Jag Panzer - "Iron Eagle" The Colorado true metal act celebrates our forefathers and their escape from tyranny. Raise the flags and let the Iron Eagle soar! 8. KISS - "Rockin in the USA" The iconic hard rockers describe playing France, Germany, England, Denmark and Japan but nothing else they'd rather do than rock it in the USA. 9. Winger - "Blue Suede Shoes" One of the best tribute to the troops tracks ever. The album, 'Winger IV', is a conceptual record about a US soldier fighting in the Middle East. 10. Alice Cooper - "I Love America" Detroit's shock rocker declares his love for America! 11. Iced Earth - "Ghost of Freedom" Another awesome tribute to our fallen troops.
