King Of Pain
Reviewer: Eric Compton
Sadly this is one of the few Loudness albums to be released without long time drummer Munetaka Higuchi. He unfortunately lost his battle to cancer, making this new album a bit bittersweet. New skinsman Masayuki Suzuki is a suitable replacement, really hammering the double bass and incorporating blast beats into the Loudness sound. This new album finds the band right in the thick of what has worked on the last six or seven releases. Downtuned heaviness, huge leads from Takasaki and vocaliast Niihara's signature "terrible" delivery. This is a decent album but at this point the band needs to stop producing so often. 9 records in 10 yrs.
