The Erotics of Disgust
Reviewer: Greg Watson
Ghost Horizon plays a brand of ambient black metal that while having promise, lacks a clear direction in where it's going and what end it is working towards. The first three songs on their EP, "The Erotics of Disgust", tend to become very predictable in their structure and sound. You go from clean, crisp guitar and vocals to humming guitars and snarls in a clearly defined pattern. Album closer "Whispers", which features Tyler Allen on guest vocals, is by far the standout track. It's crushing, aggressive, and different than the other three tracks in every way, shape and form. But it's also a damn good song and a great way to close out the album.
