Dragonia Resurrection demo 2005
Track Listing1.Dragonia 2.Survive 3.Heart Glory |
Resurrection, the right title for the long-awaited debut of the Italian epic-metal band Dragonia, born almost 10 years ago under the name of Evil Zone and resurrecting now with this 3-piece demo.
Despite the self made recording each song sounds fine, no black holes, no low quality sound… To be honest, there is only one thing which needs a strong improvement, and it’s the singer’s pronunciation; but I have to admit it’s not always easy for us Italian people not to sound too Italian!
“Resurrection” is available on the band’s website, and I think this is a wise decision, since they can skip promotion costs and reach a large number of people.
“Survive” begins like a military march and develops into gothic vocals and hammering guitars; “Dragonia” is opened by a sweet female voice soon swept away by the lead singer’s voice that wants to reach the sky… The instrumental break, dark and solemn, enriches the song’s structure, simple but at the same time effective. “Heart Glory” slows down and surrenders to soft melodies, with its flutes and acoustic guitars. Here the voice of Massimo proves to perfectly fit low tunes as well as high notes, even if this song wins the contest of the worst pronounced one…
I think Dragonia have what it takes to become a brilliant reality in a near future: good vocals, good rhythm section, strong guitar riffs and catchy atmospheres. I’m looking forward to hear their first full length album… and hopefully, a better pronunciation!
