It's pretty amazing to think that all these German thrash bands have survived (not thrived) over the years. Tankard, Aggressor, Rage, Sodom...man, they are all still alive and well. Assassin were on the ropes for a number of years, officially broken up in 1989 and re-united in 2002. Breaking the Silence is the bands second album post-hiatus, a furious charge produced by the famed Harris Johns (Helloween). While not breaking any new ground, credit where credit is due that Assassin are still raging while condemning those of the non-thrash faith. Original members Robert Gonnella (vocals), Micha Hoffman (guitars) and Scholli Scholz (guitars) have the eternal fire for this brand of Bay Area thrash, sort of high-speed Venom, blackened and served Slayeriffic.
