Prepare to scream along with the audienceBlaze's newest release is a double live CD and also his second live CD to date. Usually I'm not to big on live discs because the overall feel of the live show is missing and quality is mostly bad. "The Night That Will Not Die" started out disproving my overall generalization of live discs from the start. To my surprise I found a tight and coherent work of art with sparkling audio quality. The one flaw I can find is Blaze doesn't really sound like he is working the crowd until the second disc but once his intensity rises and the curse words start flying, it really ramps the intensity of this live disc.
The 2 CD set includes great songs from Blaze Bayley's first solo band moniker 'Blaze' and most of the songs from his latest effort "The Man Who Would Not Die". If you were a fan of the 'Blaze' material be sure to check out 'Born As A Stranger' and 'Kill And Destroy'. Another added bonus is 'Man On The Edge' from the Iron Maiden debut with Blaze as the frontman.
Overall this is a gem from a very overlooked and very talented vocalist that displays his abilities to full effect on this recording. One complete listen to this live set makes you feel you were there and completely involved, prepare to scream along with the audience as you are immersed in a sea of metal.
