The first time I heard this quintet was when I picked up the "Rebellion: A Tribute to Queensryche" CD. I must say that I was blown away by their rendition of "Take Hold of the Flame". For a good while I tried to find CD's by them but had no luck and had all but forgotten them until I received their new CD to review.
Once I popped the CD into my stereo I instantly remembered why I liked these guys. Anyone who is a fan of the older Queensryche material will hear what I'm talking about when they listen to this CD. While the CD is a bit progressive at times, it has a lot of melody and emotion to it, which makes the album that much more atmospheric. Guitarists Chris Lotesto and John Malufka show their appreciation for Iron Maiden style melodies and twin guitar sound on many of the albums tracks. There is also a few slower songs on the album which also show that these guys are capable of churning out a good ballad as well. This album will definitely appeal to fans of pre-"Operation: Mindcrime" Queensryche and Iron Maiden.
Definitely give this album a listen cause you will be whisked off into a world full of imagination and atmosphere.
