Melodic death metallers Deals Death are quite an interesting group. Falling into the death metal category, the band is quite different from that category. Musically you can definitely tell that death metal is a big influence. But the similarities end there. The vocals are barked and delivered in more of a black metal shriek as opposed to the guttural grunts and growls. Most tracks also feature backing choral melodies which adds an eerie element in the beginning. After working through the album however, the choral parts become increasingly annoying and take away from the album. Preview this album before buying.
