Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

With three albums already out I was suprised I'd never heard this band before. Right out of the gate "Sunrise Defloration" peaked my interest as shades of Morbid Angel, Immolation and Marduk came swirling out of my speakers with extreme malice. If you're looking for all-out blasting brutality there really isn't any way you can go wrong with this disc. By track 4 I was beginning to think this hyper-speed style was all this band had in the tank but then the mighty "Adonai Made Excrement" reared it's head. With it's murky, slowed down mid-section and some Morbid style soloing, these guys showed they were capable of mixing it up even if just a little bit.

I was hoping they'd contiune to explore this type of playing but the next two tunes were back to the basics. Not at all bad, but nothing that took the album to the next level. That all changes with the closing track "Sunset Detonation" as the quirky, tremolo picking blistered my ears and the band's potential shone through with the epic feel of this beast of a tune. Does it save the album as a whole? Probably not, but these hints of extreme greatness makes it well worth looking into and a band to watch in the future. If these guys decide to write a slightly more diverse album they could make huge waves in the Death Metal ocean.
