Epica's "Requiem for the Indifferent" picks up where the band left off with "Design Your Universe". Bombastic choral and symphonic arrangements are paired with groove laden riffs and heavy low end. Then add in the angelic voice of vocalist Simone Simons and the grunts of Mark Jansen and you have perfect balance of opposites. Tracks such as "Storm the Sorrow", "Deep Water Horizon" and "Deter the Tyrant" show this band at their very best. If you are a fan of symphonic metal or metal with emotion, check this album out. You won't be disappointed.
