Swedish metalcore that borrows heavily from it's own genre leaders
This is the sophomore effort from this Swedish metalcore band, the follow-up to 2009’s debut, ‘Another Year of Disaster’. There are so many of these bands literally everywhere that without proper production most just get dropped to the back of the line. Adept, thankfully, just smokes from start to finish due to a polished production job that maps out solos, percussion and vocals perfectly. I love the mix on this, giving plenty of attention to the specific gang-vocal treatment the band displays often. Musically you could point to Bullet for My Valentine and All That Remains with the twin guitar runs and harsh vocal style. We get rare clean vocals here, an asset considering how many bands overuse screaming to clean for the chorus.
