In a time where heavy metal is no longer just Heavy Metal, we have witnessed genre bending for the past decade or so with varied results. We've seen the merger of Punk & Heavy Metal, Hardcore & Speed Metal, Industrial & Metal, and even the washed-up, has-been Rap & Metal. The Project Hate bring a new mix to the plate with there mind bending (and boggling) Death Metal and Techno hybrid. Don't draw your conclusions yet! The primary course of action is Death Metal first and then touches of techno here and there to keep things interesting.
To be honest, before listening to "Hate, Dominate, Congregate, Eliminate", I didn't think that it could be pulled off. Personally, there are three things that I do not like when listening to Death Metal and they are: Clean female vocals, the overuse of keyboards, and TECHNO. To my dismay, The Project Hate have found a way to incorporate the three elements previously mentioned with neck snapping Death Metal to create a new sound that is just as evil and horrific as some of the most honored death metal bands in the genre.
I was left with my jaw hanging to the floor on such tracks as "Nailed", "Deviate", and "Burn". The Project Hate crush through the albums eight cuts with an all-out assault of doom filled metal, hateful vocals, and just about everything else in between. The shortest song on the album, "Nailed", still rings in at a hefty 7 minutes and 10 seconds. You will definitely be banging your heads in slow motions as the word "NAILED!!" is guterally spewed from your speakers.
"Deviate", one of my favorite songs on the CD, is pure genius, and a true testament to Death Metal in general. The first verse alone will have your evil fists in the air banging to armageddon: "Body covered with blood and sperm, as I shut the angel eyes. Memory's failing, but I am sure it was God that told me They have to die!" How much more evil does it get than that?
The Project Hate deliver with pure hate on their 3rd studio opus, "Hate, Dominate, Congregate, Eliminate". If you like your death metal with a twist, then experience the beautiful and threating sound of The Project Hate!
