Will blast your eardrums
Formed in Kokkola, on the west coast of Finland, this was orginally a cover band for Pantera and Slayer; their influence can still be heard even on this album. In 2003, the band named themselves Mental Care Foundation and after a few original songs were written, they released their first 4-track demo which did little. However, in 2004 they went back into the studio and made an album and by the end of the year had a deal with Low Frequency Records. ALCOHOL ANTHEMS is the debut album released in 2005.
METAL HEALTH FOUNDATION's debut CD will blast your eardrums with tight guitar and bass licks as well as screeching vocals that are angry and intimidating without being incoherent. Finnish born singer, L.L. Thruster has a great and powerful voice with little accent. They make a powerful statement with their music, carving out a niche in the metal world for themselves and I expect to see lots from them in the future. The band makes no apologies for the anger filled tunes like HATE AVENUE, PAIN,and DEATH LASTS A LIFETIME. Nor should they, they have the perfect mix here and I hope to see a tour soon in the US in support of this CD.
Headbangers unite, and check this band out, you'll love it. ALCOHOL ANTHEMS is a credit to its genre. Pantera and Slayer influened, it will only serve to promote this kind of music in America.
