Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

When I first popped this CD into my player, the "Brave Sir Robin" song from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" popped into my head.

I must say that I am not that impressed with this CD at all. When the music started I thought I had made a hasty judgement, but my judgement was proven correct. While the music has its moments of coolness, I just could not get past the vocals on the CD. It is in broken English and just really does not mesh well with the album itself. While the concept of the album is pretty cool (a fabricated land that focuses on two main characters who journey throughout it), this CD was just not that great.

When I saw that is was similar to Blind Guardian I thought it was going to be really good, but I was mistaken. While I feel that this band has potential to be really good, they just didn't do it for me on this CD. So if you want to check this CD out, go right ahead, but don't expect too much from this one.
