Sweden's Bloodbound storms on the metal scene with a back-breaking, gut wrenching power metal gem in "Nosferatu". Combining on the older elements of Iron Maiden and the new sensations of Hammerfall and Dream Evil, "Nosferatu" breaks new ground with a solid traditional output sure to please power metal fans everywhere. I was heartbroken to learn that Tad Morose frontman Urban Breed had parted ways with his band. Tad Morose seemed to achieve their biggest success with Breed fronting the group. After the band's last album, "Modus Vivendi", Breed decided to go a separate direction and take the job of lead vocalist for Bloodbound. At the time I just didn't realize how great a leap this was for Breed, and now it all makes sense to me.

"Nosferatu" is really just a fine representation of heavy metal in it's purest form. From the creepy storyline of "Behind The Moon" to the down right maniacal penning of the title track, this band just rejuvenates the power metal movement with that eerie songwriting style made famous by cuts like Priest's "The Ripper" and of course Maiden's "Hallowed Be Thy Name". The bass line frenzy is reminiscent of Steve Harris, highlighting "Metal Monster" with it's galloping pace. The classic battle front, war swept saga is of course evident in "On The Battlefield", the battle hymn every power metal band needs. As always Urban Breed is magnificent, displaying that ultra clean, ultra precise vocal delivery that made his previous band so damn likable.

Bottom Line - A fantastic new band that really can stir a whole new movement within the traditional metal spectrum. A must have for Iron Maiden fans!
