Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

Formed in 2002 in Kentucky as a basement band, The Strongest Proof is defintly going to be a hot band to check out. With good lyrics and strong guitar licks they are hard rock at its best. Heavy and aggressive without being thrash, they are an easy listen that people of all genres will like. Signed with Indiana based company Save Your Servant, the new album ONE PERCENT was released in December of 2005 by Phratry Records, LLC. The CD offers a clear vocaled, riff-driven ride that I was very pleased with. Deep, poetic vocals by Tomlinson, who also plays guitars, set off the dark tone for the overall album. A band who takes the power of their words seriously, you have to listen closely to understand them fully but once you do you will be as impressed as I am with the melodic lyrics. The Strongest Proof, if they manage to hold it together as so many good bands don't, will be around for years. I should also add that they are a generous band, providing free copies of ONE PERCENT to record party attendees.

Score: 8 of 10
