Add equal parts of scorching vocals, booming bass, slice and dice guitar and throbbing drums and you have the recipe for one of 2007's most anticipated live releases, Rob Zombie's, "Zombie Live". With an intro equal in anticipation to last minute "comped" front row tix, the cd begins with a relentless force and doesn't pause for a breather for 18 tracks. Stylistically, even with the negligible glitches associated with any live cd (Piggy D's bass regrettably gets buried on occasion, Thunder Kiss '65's tempo is a bit hasty, etc) "Zombie Live" solidifies Rob's continual move from his early signature heavy metal sound to more of an experimental amalgam of metal with an industrial backdrop groove. The outcome? If you are a fan of the "horror fan niche" that Zombie has cultivated over the majority of his solo career this cd will connect you with what has become a multi-media, terror themed presentation of Zombie's music. It's a booming, chest-pounding burlesque of bawdy, alternative metal that makes you wish you hadn't missed the stage show. And a cannibalistic cabaret it is. Stand out songs include "More Human Than Human", "Super–Charger Heaven" and "American Witch". Currently on tour with Ozzy, Zombie as the "creature of the wheel" is now motoring with an mechanized V8, and a new Garmin...it will be interesting to see where he takes the "show" next. 1. Sawdust in the Blood 2. American Witch 3. Demon Speeding 4. Living Dead Girl 5. More Human than Human 6. Dead Girl Superstar 7. House of a 1000 Corpses 8. Let It All Bleed Out 9.
