Hell: Curse & Chapter
I was impressed by this reunited NWOBHM-era shock metal troupe's debut full-length, 'Human Remains,' but honestly found the vocals too melodramatically ghoulish and frantic too often, to the point of not wanting to listen to the album anymore. That's less of a problem this time around, as frontman David Bower has wisely toned down his shtick a bit. Much of what was right with the fierce trad metal of the last album is in place, but with just enough variation and deviation from the old formula to keep it fresh and exciting, with Kev Bower and producer Andy Sneap providing plenty of thrilling riffs and solos throughout.
