Any Queensryche fan should pick this up
Holy Jesus!!! This remaster finally does this album justice.
So many people have complained about the sound quality of the original EP but this one just brings out every aspect of the music. Geoff Tate's sonic screams are much clearer and the crunchy, melodic guitar work of DeGarmo/Wilton are much more clear. This remaster is probably one of the best ideas that has come along from EMI in a while.
Not only is the sound quality great, but the bonus tracks you get are just another incentive to pick up this classic Queensryche release. The bonus track is a live performance that was released on video/laser disc from a show in Japan on 8/5/84. The live tracks give fans and listeners a taste of what is was like to see Queensryche when they were just breaking onto the metal scene. The live material is worth it alone just to pick this one up as well as the set list for the live bonus tracks.
It features the classic Queensryche cuts "Queen of the Reich" and "The Lady Wore Black" as well as some tracks off of "The Warning" before the album was released. Any Queensryche fan should pick this up, or if you want the entire remaster collection, wait for the upcoming "Revolution Calling" box set to be released sometime in June with the second wave of remasters. These are the releases any long-time or new fan of Queensryche cannot miss.
