Wednesday 13's Fang Bang is one of the most diverse and enjoyable albums you will find these days. A clever play on words makes a strange combination of titles that at first glance make you wonder just how serious this guy is. But when you get the CD playing, you see he is DEADLY serious. The 'just right' combination of guitar driven speed metal and punk mixed with maybe a bit of goth create morbid, violent, and dangerous tunes that are as addictive as the lyrics. I have to admire the bravery it must have taken to write and perform such songs as 'Happily Ever Cadaver', a blatant ballad about a transvestite making love to the corpse of a woman he was obsessed with in life and 'Curse of Me', which is about a man who kill his ex lover and hides her in the crawl space to make love to later. While perhaps a bit gross to some, to those of us who 'get it', it's funny stuff. Aside from this controversial ditty that is sure to have critics screaming for a ban, there are at least half a dozen songs about a deranged boyfriend who finally goes off the deep end and murders his girlfriend because he can't take it anymore. Among the morbid air of the album is 'Faith in the Devil' is a tribute to the Prince of Darkness and 'Haddonfield', a mini horror story in song form and Burn the Flames, a weird ode to a Satanist living in a haunted house. But don't mistake it, Wednesday 13 is not all about morbid and Satanic rituals; he also does balls out party rockers like 'Too Much Blood' and 'Till Death do us Party'. I feel that it is important for me to say that while I give this album a 10 and two thumbs up, it will probably not be for anyone who is offended easily by controversial content, but for the true rockers out there who are mature enough to handle it and take it for what it is--a song and nothing more--you must get to the music store or online and BUY this. You will love it!
