Divebomb Records have released another obscure album for metal fans. Thanks to the label's "Bootcamp Series" another incredible album is seeing the light of day. Enforce. Heard that name before? Nope, neither had I. Enforce is a progressive metal outfit heavily influenced by Queensryche and other bands of the same time period. The album originally was released on cassette in 1990 under the band name En Force. The Baltimore act is led by vocalist Lonnie Fletcher--he is almost a dead ringer for Geoff Tate and could probably stay with him note for note. The harmonized vocals are very similar to those featured in multiple Queensryche releases. Musically I think it is a cross between "Empire" and "Rage for Order" era 'Ryche. The solos on the record are incredible and the songs are extremely catchy. While the comparison to Queensryche is fairly obvious once you hear the band you will realize they have their own sound and identity as well. This is sure to appeal to the massive amounts of prog metal fans and traditionalists everywhere. Do yourself a favor and go and check out Enforce's album "The Final Sign". The reissue includes new artwork, a sixteen page booklet with lyrics and some fun radio spots the band had back in the day.
