Do I really need to go into this? Its Immolation, enough said. These guys have been pumping out blasphemic death metal ever since I can remember. Stepping on Angels was the start, Dawn of Possession was the LP that got them signed to the old RC label. Great stuff in my collection. The track in my mind that is the best they have ever done was "Into Everlasting Fire". Aside from that, the album "Here In After" was great, but Immolation have taken a downward spiral. I feel now that Immolation are grasping at straws to make themselves different from all of the other clones in death metal. I just don't get the direction they are going. They haven't changed the vocal styles or anything, but the music is just getting more and more off time and its hard to tell where the songs are going. 1Evil1 has always said that he feels "as if the guys in Immolation are all playing a different song at the same time." I now am starting to agree with that comment more and more. Not a barrage of blast beats, Its midpaced to fast in varying places. Sad to say this but once agin, Immolation in all of their glory now could not hold my attention for this album. Mediocre Blasphemic Death Metal. Great artwork though.
