Metalcore that is predictable yet still a pretty solid listen
Nightshade has delivered one of the better metalcore records I've heard in a while with '1426'. The songs tend to get a little predictable but that's a small price to pay for the quality of the songs. There's lots of groove and bounce to the tracks and some very well thought out instrumentation. The vocals are a great mix of growls and cleans, with a couple of Architects inspired "blehs". The concept of the album is really fascinating and some well-placed sound bites almost make it like an audio book with a provided soundtrack. If you like your metalcore with substance and character, then look no further than Nightshade.
