I've struggled with this band's catalog since the 90s. Often the Portuguese extremists experiment too much, throwing the baby out with the bathwater in an effort to expand their look and sound. Thus, '1755', an album that is sung in Portuguese and saturated with big orchestra sounds. Producer Tue Madsen mixes it well and the true story concept is interesting--a giant earthquake that wrecked Lisbon in 1755. Fans of the band may enjoy the theatrics, extreme vocals and gothic instrumentation. I'm struggling to find a place for it even as an adventurist.
