Fuzzy stoner riffs churn and burn from this Texas act
Mothership return with their much-anticipated follow-up to 2014's 'II'. The Texas stoners churn and burn through these eight tracks of 70s rock and metal doom. Opener "High Strangeness" sets the tone as a moody instrumental before the band solar powers "Ride the Sun". Washed out riffs, somewhat monotone vocals and groovy riffs are all over, notably on the up-tempo "Midnight Express" and "Helter Skelter". There are tons of these bands and few do it better than Scorpion Child. But these fellow Texans are pretty damn good and show that with this third endeavor.
