Metalcore that just goes through the motions and lacks ingenuity
From the beginning, I didn't feel the vitriol or the attitude that usually drenches metalcore releases from head to toe. The vocals were very straight forward, the growls weren't very menacing and the music didn't have the consistency that I like in my metalcore. There were some good moments on "The Forever Lie" that show promise and signs of good things ahead. Some of the riffs during breakdowns were bone breaking and beefy. The production was solid, blending everything together seamlessly and having a pretty heavy mix in the end. But for me, this album just didn't have what it takes to stand apart in a genre filled to the brim of capacity.
