Impressive debut album!
I think it's safe to assume that Houston, Texas act Wills Dissolve got their name from the 2004 Isis album, 'Panopticon'. Can't say I blame them, as that's probably one of the greatest post-metal albums in existence today. The question is, does Wills Dissolve (the band) live up to such a big name?

Well, based on their debut album, 'The Heavens Are Not On Fire', they absolutely do. Combining the best parts of Opeth, Enslaved, and Isis, Wills Dissolve are able to create a sonic soundscape across five epic tracks, that will take their listeners down to the pits of hells, across the seas, through freezing mountains, and onto the spacious heavens. The music, vocals, and songwriting are great, but the production could use some help. It's not bad for a debut album, but I could imagine how huge this album would sound with a big budget production. Other than that being my only gripe, this is an extremely solid album and shouldn't be overlooked.
