4.5-4 Great - Almost perfect records but there's probably a lacking.
3.5 Good - Most of the record is good, but there may be some filler.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

Music to trash your room to
I expected some serious, boring doom from Sludge! and was completely wrong. This one took me back a few years to when I used to go see bands at a place called "The Dungeon". The music was fast, energetic and the bands always had a pissed-off attitude.

This Sludge! CD is instrumentally about as raw as you can get. No heavy production and no bullshit; just music to trash your room to with some System of a Down quirkiness in the vocals. Call it metalcore, hardcore, hatecore or whatever; an in-depth review would be a disservice to the music because its not the kind of stuff you need to overanalyze. I would have liked to have had more music to see how they sound now though.

Bottom Line: Hardcore style with weird bits.

Best Song: Sour Meat

Note: The music may be raw, but these guys are way up on the merchandise side with some Sludgendise.
