Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

Yeah ok so this is Simplistic Death Metal. But you know what, sometimes even the simplest of metal can be the most effective. I personally don't need flashy guitar riffs in the cd to show me that yeah you can play a guitar, or that you want to show off your cock rock skills. Frediablo is back again on the second album for Gorelord. And I do have to say that this album is more refined than the last effort. Just imagine Vulgar Display of Power era Pantera mixed with Death metal crunch, black metal and death metal grunts, and thats what you get with Gorelord. Catchy songwriting, gross out lyrics that were to disturbing to make liner notes for and there you have it. Although I do have to say that the last two tracks on the album were not needed as bonuses, the two tracks are already on the first album and are horribly recorded, hence the title "demo tracks". And I can see why. Strongest songs on the album: Screams choked to Silence, Horror, Gore & Unreligion, Outback and I am Master Here. Of course no album would be complete without an acoustic track: Outback. For me that really threw me for a loop, seeing as how the hole album crushes everything, then I get to this song and I suddenly want to just mellow out, and then BAM!!!!!!!!!! Another crusher comes out. All in all a fine purchase.
