Cipher provides a bit of thrashy death metal with the tracks that appear on their latest album, 'Deviance'. The vocals are on the low end of the death metal style in that there isn't so much growling as there is more gravelly vocals. The growls show up from time to time though. The music is a great mix of melodic and aggressive, giving you some really quality guitar solos and some pretty catchy riffing. The production is pretty decent overall, there are a few points where it gets a tad muddy but not enough to really detract from the overall sound. If you like your death metal with a little melody, this should be right up your alley.
