After hearing about the split up of Dying Fetus and wanting to know what Kevin Talley and Jason Netherton are doing, I seeked out Misery Index. Misery sound like, of course, Dying Fetus minus the ultra guttural vocals. The three tracks for Misery Index are awesome because it sounds like old thrash mixed with the groove and just plain out bash your skull in riffs. Although what sets this apart is the bass guitar is actually heard in the mix which i think is great. My Untold Apocalypse starts off with raging blast beats that will tear your head off. Then at the end of the tracks for Misery is a cover for Disrupt. Which kills all. Not to mention that it will now be easier to pick these guys up as they have just signed with Nuclear Blast. I also state that Slayer asked Kevin Talley, whom is a very skilled drummer, to play for them and he turned them down!!!!!!!!!!! MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
Commit Suicide's portion of the disc is very skilled and highly played deathcore. I have all the respect in the world for commit. One reason being that on their album Larvae, they actually recorded all the equipment live. Another reason for the respect of Commit is because they throw it all in a mixture. Very tight and very well played.Did i also mention that the death cover is actually giving the old death a run for their money? Deathcore can't get much better than this. Its going to be interesting to see where these guys go...............
