Will melt your face down to a bubbling messHoly freakin' crap, where have I been hiding to have missed this band? This is one of the newer bands that I have stumbled on that have blown my head open as if Dirty Harry Callahan thought I had called him a punk and told him to make my day.
Taking a cue straight from early era Slayer, Warbringer comes guns blazin' right out of the gates. The vocals are reminiscent of Reign in Blood Slayer and Fabulous Disaster Exodus. The guitars are a well balanced mix of melody and speed, with some technical work thrown in to melt your face down to a bubbling mess. The drums and bass bring up the back end and fatten up the track. Trust me, I blew a few speakers blasting this one.
From start to finish, Waking Into Nightmares is a quality release. Now let me say that while these guys remind me of Slayer a whole lot, they have their own sound and style going on as well. The vocals have some grit and screaming to them and the riffs are incredibly catchy, which lead to a lot of head banging.
I do not know how much press these guys have received over this record, but for those of you looking for a great quality album that won't hurt the wallet too much, this album is a must own. I definitely look forward to what this band brings in the future and hope and pray to the metal gods that it continues to be as heavy and nasty as this album is.
