Yes! This is amazing. Absolutely crushing, atmospheric doom/sludge brought to you by ex-Electric Wizard personnel. I can't get enough of this. If you want something ridiculously heavy and from a completely different universe, check this out. Monster, distortion drenched riffs conjured by guitarist Tim Bagshaw lumber down from the nearest astral plane and collide in your head, weaving sinister melodies that you won't soon forget. You'll be humming these bizarre melodies for days, trust me. Buried underneath the layer of otherworldly guitar lays a dense, churning rhythm section…complimented perfectly by the thick as fucking molasses bass tone of Adam Richardson and the total percussive onslaught of Mark Greening. Richardson is also the man behind some of the most tortured, heinous vocal incantations I've heard in some time. They range from low guttural death growls to demonic whispers to odd cleans/shouts and mid range black metal screams. All of the vocals are enveloped in effects (digital delay, etc.) which make them even that more unsettling, menacing and hellish. The vocals are the equivalent to an aural exorcism. They have to be heard to be believed.
The atmosphere of this recording is out of this world. Bagshaw is not only a master of the riff, but also a master of creating enthralling atmospheres (which is also apparent on such Electric Wizard classics as "Dopethrone", etc.) with his riffs. He effortlessly switches between moody clean lines and heavy fucking sludge/doom riffs and even on occasion employs some black metal style chord progressions which are used as subtle atmosphere enhancements, further elevating the grim aura that this monolithic work projects. The production, although raw, suits the music perfectly. It's dirty as hell and it's as thick as an oil slick. Everything sounds great. All of the instruments are totally audible and the vocals are mixed perfectly right in the middle of it all. "We Will Lead You to Glorious Times" is very highly recommended for fans of bands like Electric Wizard, Buried at Sea, Grief, dISEMBOWELMENT, etc. Fuck, if you like anything the sludge/doom scene has to offer, check this out ASAP. You WILL not be disappointed.
