Belgian thrashers Leave Scars offer up classic thrash sounds with "Chains of Redemption", the band's feature length debut. With a sound that harkens back to the early Bay Area days, Leave Scars show that they have their thrash chops finely honed with tracks like "The Faceless", "Chains" and "Taste of Blood" with that easily identifiable groove. Most of the tracks also have a slight death metal undertone to them, given that the pacing of the drums and the gallop of the riffs tend to be a bit faster and more aggressive. The vocals maintain the thrash bark/spoken style. Overall, this album isn't setting them apart, but it's still a fun listen.
