The Loom of Time definitely has a distinct style that permeates 'NihilReich' from start to finish. The band use black metal and doom as their musical base with a slight foray into death metal. There are times when they'll utilize some Iron Maiden-influenced melodies with really great chunk and riffing as well. But the main issue for me was the production. The bass was pretty much non-existent and the ideal sound was just really muddy which detracted from the feel. A solid effort on the debut album though and worth a listen.
