Use of the rinse and repeat method really makes the album lackluster
Deinonychus is back with their long titled album 'Ode to Act of Murder, Dystopia and Suicide'. This was an incredibly frustrating listen as there are elements and moments throughout the album that I thoroughly enjoyed and was quite impressed by. But the bigger issue for me is the fact that all the songs have gobs of similarities throughout, making it feel like the album is one long song, broken up into different parts rather than an album of varying tracks. The use of the rinse and repeat method really makes the album lackluster as after one or two tracks, you know what you're getting with this release and there isn't much deviation going forward.
