Gurthang continue to up their game with their fifth album, "Shattered Echoes". An eclectic blend of doom, atmospheric black metal and death metal, the album whirls and blows its way through 11 tracks of metal wonder. The vocals are a torturous wailing that pushes the emotional envelope to the edge and back, making you feel the pain and anguish as it comes through your speakers. The music is a great mix of sludgy, chugging riffs with blast beats, black metal buzzing and clean guitars. The complex musical layers, the lyrics and the album itself are something that just cannot be missed. You definitely don't want to pass on this one.
