Ok folks, I've been complaining very heavily lately about wishing a death metal band would combine the old and new sounds together but still have their own stamp to it. Well, Winds of Leng has done just that. With 'Horrid Dominion' you get an album that is reminiscent of Obituary and Black Dahlia Murder but still has its own unique sound to it. Heavy, melodic, and dynamic is what you get with the music. Galloping riffs, chugging breakdowns and some fluid solos feature heavily. The one downfall with the album is the production is a little on the low side with the overall sound being a bit murky and not as clear as I would like. But honestly, the music and unique perspective that Winds of Leng brings to the table makes it easy to look past that. If you're looking for that death metal album that will help pull you out of the putrescent pool of stagnation, grab hold of this one for dear life. It'll be a wild and kick ass ride!
