3.5 Good - Most of the record is good, but there may be some filler.

2.5-2 Fair - Worth a listen, but best obtained by collectors.
1.5-1 Bad - Major problems with music, lyrics, production, etc.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

Every local scene in the world has a band like STIFF DONUT. You know the type. Strange beyond genre classification, humorous lyrics, and a shtick all their own, and nothing else at all. Seriously, this a horrendous. The best thing about the CD is the lyric sheet, and to their credit, there are some chuckles. Beyond that, I am one of the few that like novelty bands, and I am not feeling this one at all. The synthesizer is fucking annoying. There are a few OK riffs, although they are anything but groundbreaking. The vocalist uses a couple different styles, although they seem to compete for which sounds more terrible. The drums sound electronic, which they likely are. There really is nothing else to say about this.
