Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

I have to give the guy credit for delivering a lot of music in a short amount of time. Chris Caffery not only recently released his double CD solo piece “Faces”, but has also made sure to give the fans some extra stuff on the EP versions for particular singles he wants to showcase.

This EP for “Music Man” is a welcome addition to the CD pile. It hightlights one of the more radio friendly compositions from "Faces". He also includes 4 new tracks as well. There is a clean version of “Pisses Me Off” which by making clever use of bleeps for the cursing, makes it a humorous listen. It also makes me find things that piss me off to compare notes to Chris’ ranting and raving.

The main reason I made sure to review this EP was for its inclusion of two new Christmas tracks. Fans of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra might like that aspect right off the bat. I really enjoyed "What Child Is This" as it holds a similar power and feel to "Christmas Eve Sarajevo". Chris did a great job on it this one and it is getting serious ply in my CD Changer. The track "Christmas Is", is the more ballady track of the two , nice and pleasant. Among the remaining tracks "Amazing Grace" (from GDW) while poignant, I think would been best to be left on the main CD and given room for another track.

This is also readily available via the website and I recommend that since Chris often gives his fans some cool extras when they order online.
