Comes out with balls swingingIf you want a Hard Rock album that screams of attitude with in your face lyrics BITCHFIRE is the band you've been looking for!
BITCHFIRE burst unto the South Florida Hard Rock scene last year with their self titled debut album. Consisting of Boston Rock Goddess Sharyn Peach on vocals. Donny Sutton Brown on guitars. Robbie Plast on bass.
The simplest way to sum up the album is that it's a story of love gone wrong and the complex web of emotions that soon follow. From feelings of betrayal and vulnerability to revenge and finally empowerment.
Similiar in vocal style to Lita Ford one can feel Sharyn's emotion bleeding through each and every word. Take the title track 'Bitchfire' a song where a broken heart is masked by a tough exterior. Tracks like 'Fly High' and 'Found Me Again' where bitterness soon turns to finding ones self and realizing true strength comes from within. Then there are songs like 'Toxic Waste' where revenge truly is a dish best served cold. Or 'Vampire' with it's dark and haunting vibe. Yet on cuts like 'Breathe' and 'Run To You' her voice is soothing even if vibrating of pain. And on other standouts like 'Pleasure is Pain' or 'Selfish Heart' it blends together with her ability to hit those notes higher up the register.
If there is one weak spot to be found it is also one of the best elements in this mix. Donny's guitar work. His licks are hard...at times raw...but so pure that it makes the other instruments seem like filler.
BITCHFIRE is an album that's hellbent on payback. It comes out with balls swinging and is never relenting.
