Death metal with a technical flair and a few twists and turns
On 'Submersion', I found myself thinking that this was yet another death metal album that was going to be easy to predict. And for the most part it is very easy to see the direction the songs are going in. But then a track like "Unquenchable" comes on & changes things up a little with clean, crisp guitars that give way to a slow churn and burn. There are a couple tracks on this album that change up the feel of the album & I found myself really enamored with those tracks as it was something a little different. If the band can capitalize on this going forward, I believe it will help set them apart from the hordes of death metal bands out there.
