Quality return to the band's 80s traditional sound
It has been 26-years since San Francisco's Hexx released their last record. Founding guitarist Dan Watson is still leading the charge, accompanied by longtime drummer John Shafer. Aside from that, new members are holding bassist, guitar and vocal roles. The band's vintage 80s sound is preserved for this new offering of US traditional metal. Galloping triplets, Halford-esque vocals and a fat drum mix are obvious highlights. I'm loving the enjoyable basics of 'Slave in Hell' and the Sabbath grind of 'Dark Void of Evil'. Overall, a quality return and one that should position the band for another successful run.
