The best hard rock/power metal band has returned once again, this time rising from their polished and well-kept throne to deliver an EP simply called "Superheroes". The audio portion of "Superheroes" contained six cuts, one of which was a cover tune and the rest all original, brand new studio songs. To accompany that particular release the band released this "Superheroes" DVD, which contains tons and tons of Edguy footage sure to please every one of their adoring fans.
For me personally these band DVDs really give you a window to the soul, with so many of these featuring in depth coverage of the band's concerts, backstage antics, interviews, photos, etc. This release does all of that, with this being the very first video released by the band. The disc contains live concert footage from Brazil, including fan favorites like "Under The Moon" and "Mysteria". Along with those quality live performances fans are treated to the option of Stereo or the ever popular 5.1 Surround Sound. Those of you fortunate enough to have massive home theater systems will pretty much be able to experience a live concert in your living room.
Beyond the live performances comes a studio report on the making of "Superheroes", a making of feature on the new video "Superheroes", rare band photos, and exclusive interviews with the band members. Along with that comes the most important feature in my honest opinion, that being a "road report" chronicling the band's travels and appearances all over the globe. We get treated to a running commentary from Tobias and company as they show us their ventures in Germany, Japan, America, and countless other countries. Along with the band commentary you will pick up other band's comments on Edguy, with groups like Stratovarius interviewed for this feature.
Bottom Line - It is great to finally have a piece of video footage to go with so many great Edguy albums! This is a must have for any fan interested in getting to know the band on a more personal level.
