I always get made fun of when I wear my old school Tiamat shirt, and I know why, But why can't people leave me be and just enjoy the old Tiamat? Well screw that, I love old Tiamat and always will. However I understand why people starting hating them when Wild Honey came out, then Deeper Kind of Slumber. Love it or hate it. I, and other, think Tiamat should have changed their name. Judas Christ in terms is the heaviest thing they have done in several years. Of course take in mind that this is not heavy but heavy in their timeline of albums. With Tiamat I have grown accustomed to the slow and depressive songs that Johan can generate, so I like it when they do the "slow, cry on the shoulder of someone" songs. It makes no sense for them to be making any metal anymore seeing as how this could not be considered metal. The songs almost have a pop feel to them, that could be the fact that they recorded this album in the same place that Depeche Mode did. I respect the fact that Johan and the others are branching out and have been for the better part of five years, but I wish people would just sit back and listen to the progression. Once again its an instance where people are knocking them because they used to be metal. But on this record maybe only three songs actually have me interested in the album. Not for the older fans of Tiamat, of course you probably already knew that.
