Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

This band is about nothing but straight up head-banging metal!

LA lends the talents of Crematorium to brutally kick our ass with undying aggro/death groove. Proven on songs like the lead tracks "Seasons Of Nothingness","The Murder Process" and "Through Adversity". These guys really hit the mark with what I believe to be their strongest point GROOVE which is just bleeding through out the whole album. Take that mixed with drums straight from the heart of hell combined with the machine driven riffing styles of Frank & Moshe and you create the recipe for infectious metal.

Each song is filled with so many twists, turns and breakdowns structurally ("Nightmares Fused Within Reality") you cant help but be captivated. Check out the atmospheric and creepy instrumentals "A Disconsolate Winter Landscape" and album closer "From Order And Chaos" to see that these guys are not just out on a killing spree. This is the type of musical blend that has been missing from the metal scene for awhile, combining the best elements of hard-core, death metal (Morbid Angel influences throughout), black metal, thrash metal, doom metal and the Swedish styling made famous by In Flames (Whoracle). To hear an onslaught of all these elements combined check out "Life:Sick" and "Bright Lights, Grey Skies".

Not to take anything away from the CD because its excellently produced and mixed thanks to Michael Rozon but if you ever get the chance see this band live they are tight and the sound will blow you away. Rarely do you get a live performance of such caliber. 12 tracks of killer and absolutely no filler on this album. If you like your metal tainted with a little hard-core and plenty of groove look no further than CREMATORIUM! The future of metal has come!
