Arkansas rockers Affectus (Latin for emotion) are similar to Linkin Park and Frameshit with pieces of Pink Floyd's textured composition. The mainstream appeal permeates the record throughout thanks to the singer's smooth delivery amongst symphonic arrangements. The tracks are mid-tempo to softer ballads with descending and soft guitar tones. It is a rather odd album to place considering the wide variety of influences. The writing is conceptual concerning a man's fall from grace.
